May is quickly nearing its end… and the next Miksang Meeting is just a few days away.
Vaughn has been looking forward to the next assignment all winter… 😉 ! Hint: Bring your travel or zoom lens if you own one, if you do not, bring your kit lens (18-55 mm or 24-85mm). Make sure your battery is charged and your memory card empty. Set your camera to jpg, please. It makes for a faster transfer.
Remember our change of venue: We now gather at Carol’s Cafe and Catering in the lounge.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, June 2nd at 9:30 am. Feel free to arrive early and order breakfast, or tag on time for lunch afterwards to socialize and reconnect with like-minded photographers.
We will miss Lynn and Colleen – hopefully, some of our new members can join us this month!
Hello everyone and sorry for the delay in posting images as well as the usual quick recap of what we did on May 12th. It was great to see so many familiar faces gathered in the lounge area at Carol’s Cafe and Catering, our new meeting location. It appeared that many members were happy to take advantage of ordering breakfast to fuel their bodies before receiving the assignment and heading out for an excursion.
Vaughn and I sent everyone out for an Open Shoot with the encouragement of observing spring signs all around. Themes included, but not exclusive, in this Open Shoot cover “Dot in Space – Level 2”, “Flowers and Weeds” as well as “Visual Haiku”. We were excited to see that “Texture”, “Pattern” and “Space” were also represented.
In case you missed the meeting please refer to the text on pages 81 through 91 covering Part 4: Flowers and Weeds in “Heart of Photography – Way of Seeing Volume II” by John McQuade and Miriam Hall. If you are inclined, please upload some of your images to our Flickr site (all members have been invited to join – if you did not receive the invite after taking part in the workshop, let us know so we can reissue it.)
Thanks to Vaughn for sending me the pictures to upload. And a special thank you to Colleen, Patricia, Wanda, Tami, Lynn, Colin, Kevin and Terry for coming out to participate on May 12th.
Hope you enjoy today’s images…
Thank you to all who attended the May 5th & 6th Nalanda Miksang workshop in Moose Jaw. Vaughn and I enjoyed meeting photographers from Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Weyburn and Moose Jaw. We spent an action filled and informative two days together to explore the teachings of Nalanda Miksang Contemplative Photography.
Welcome to Marilyn, Marianne, Bonnie, Wade and Kit to our Miksang group. Patricia, Colleen and Colin caught up on their Level 2 knowledge, and together we all had a fabulous time exploring Moose Jaw through the camera lens.
Thanks to Vaughn for securing a great classroom venue!
We hope new and “old” Miksang practitioners plan to join us at Carol’s Cafe and Catering at 820 North Service Road in Moose Jaw on Saturday, May 12th from 9:30 am until approximately 12:30 pm for our scheduled May meeting.
